Description

M51 was the first object I ever saw through a telescope and now is also the first one of which I aquired the data completely by myself without any support. It was a rough road, the first two nights this week I wasnt succesful and I was just trying to get comfortable with my mount. On the third night finally everything worked out well (polar alignment, setup, go to alignment, focussing and stuff) and I was able to aquire 75 Minutes of data. I was actually planning to do at least 4 hours, but due to my own mistakes (wrong settings in the remote release, fell asleep and forgot to check the batteries in my Canon, turned off automatic Meridian Flip by mistake so I had to throw over 100 subs away due to stars that were strokes and slight balancing issues in the beginning) I only had 150 usable subs. I'm pretty proud nonetheless by my progress, as this was the first time I actually used a real goto mount without any real prior experience.
